About Lesson

Carbon (IV) oxide concentration

An increase in CO2 concentration increases the rate of photosynthesis up to a certain level when the rate of photosynthesis slows down and levels off. At this point, other factors (such as light intensity, water and temperature) could be a limiting factor.

Question

What is a limiting factor?

  • A factor that limits the reaction rate in a physiological process;
  • Anything in short supply that prevents a physiological process from taking place at its maximum rate;
