Organs

An organ is a group of tissues specialized to perform a specific function.

Animal organs include heart, stomach, lungs, eye, ear, liver and kidneys.

Each organ is made of several tissues working together as a unit.

For instance, the heart is made of muscular, epithelial, connective and blood tissues.

 

Plant organs include stems, roots, fruits, leaves and flowers.

The stem is made up of vascular, epidermal and photosynthetic tissues.
