About Lesson
Diabetes insipidus
In case the pituitary gland cannot produce adequate amounts of ADH, much of the water will not be reabsorbed in the distal convoluted tubule.
The person produces large volumes of dilute urine, a condition called diuresis. This leads to dehydration and patients have to take in large amounts of water to compensate the water lost.
This disease is called diabetes insipidus.
