About Lesson
To ensure an efficient diffusion gradient, the following must be present:
- Lung ventilation: breathing movements to transport respiratory gases to and from the lungs.
- Blood circulation: The pulmonary artery brings blood low in oxygen concentration and high in Carbon (IV) oxide concentration while pulmonary vein takes away blood rich in oxygen and low in Carbon (IV) oxide concentration.
- Haemoglobin: which ensures that Oxygen does not accumulate in the alveolus and quickly combines with the Oxygen to form oxyhaemoglobin in the bloodstream.
