Development of Fruits

Fruit is a fully-grown fertilized ovary containing fully developed seeds.

Fruit development is brought about by a hormone called gibberellins.

The ovary wall becomes the fruit wall (pericarp).

The pericarp is made up of three layers; epicarp (outer layer), mesocarp (middle layer) and endocarp (inner layer).
