Structure and Function of a Flower

A flower is made up of a flower stalk (pedicel), the apex of the flower stalk (receptacle) to which are attached the four groups of floral structures, the calyx on the outside, corolla (the coloured parts), the male parts (androecium) and the female parts (gynoecium/pistil).
