SEXUAL REPRODUCTION IN ANIMALS
Sexual reproduction involves the fusion of nuclei of the male and female gametes.
The male animals have reproductive organs called testes that produce male gametes called sperms.
The female animals have reproductive organs called ovaries that produce female gametes called ova (sing-ovum).
Fertilization – is the fusion of the nuclei of male and female gametes.
There are two types of fertilization;
(a) External fertilization
(b) Internal fertilization
