Comparative Embryology

Embryology is the study of formation and development of embryos. Embryos at different stages in different organisms have shown very close relationships between the first, middle and final stages of development. This similarity suggests a common ancestry.

Embryos of vertebrates

Recapitulation Theory states that the closer the resemblance between the embryos in early stage the closer the phylogenetic relationship of the organisms.
