Characteristic Features
- Carry out both locomotion and localized movement.
A few are carried by wind while others are sessile.
- Are multicellular, i.e. made of many cells.
- Are eukaryotic i.e. the nuclear material is membrane bound.
The cells have membrane bound organelles.
- Reproduce sexually with either internal or external fertilization.
A few show asexual reproduction.
- Are heterotrophic i.e. feed on already manufactured food.
