Types of Responses to a variety of Stimuli
Animals respond by movement and locomotion
Plants respond by growth
Growth/movement towards a stimulus is described as positive response
Growth/movement away from a stimulus is described as negative response
Responses are categorized into three groups;
- Taxis or tactic responses.
- Tropisms or tropic responses.
- Nastic responses.
