The Sacral Vertebrae
Found in the sacral region.

Sacral vertebrae has large and broad centrum to offer support.
Have narrow neural canal.
Neural spine is much reduced.
The first anterior sacral vertebra is large with wing-like transverse processes which are fused to the pelvic girdle.
The transverse processes of the remaining vertebrae are not attached.
They all provide surfaces for attachment of back muscles.
All the sacral vertebrae are fused to form a rigid structure, the sacrum.
This makes the sacrum strong and firm to bear body weight and spread it to the legs through the pelvic girdle.
